Flyleaf

Okay, so, music reviews are not really my thing, to be honest I'm not that experimental with my music- I tend to stick with what I like.
What I do like is FLYLEAF! Love them, love them, love them!
Im still obsessed with them since the first time Alan sent me a youtube link to one of their songs.
Thank you Alan!

The particular song I've decided to focus on is 'Cassie'. I just find this song so powerful and it makes me think about one girls boldness for Christ.

Lacey Mosley is the main singer for Flyleaf and she just has such an amazing voice and her 'screams' are immense. I just dont get bored of listening to this song.

Heres a link to the acoustic version of the song, I choose this version because its live:

The alledged story behind 'Cassie'
http://chi.gospelcom.net/DAILYF/2002/04/daily-04-20-2002.shtml
Christian martyrs in 20th century America? It happened on this day, April 20, 1999. When Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold began shooting up their school, they did not fire randomly. In their twisted minds, Athletes, minorities and Christians were the enemy.
"Do you believe in God?" they asked Cassie Bernall. They knew full well she did. The girl who had once indulged in the occult (as the killers now did) had moved into a realm of peace when she learned to center her heart on Christ. She became a church-goer and a worker among those who needed Christ. Often she brought her Bible to school.
She was reading it in the library when the killer pointed his gun at her. Did she believe in God? "Yes, I believe in God," she replied.
"Why?" asked the boy in the dark trenchcoat. Without waiting for an answer, he pulled the trigger.
"My God, my granddaughter was a martyr," said Cassie's grandma when she heard the story.
And not the only one, either. Rachel Scott, a spiritually-minded seventeen-year-old whose ambition was to become a missionary to Africa, died, too. So did John Tomlin, a sixteen-year-old who had recently gone to Mexico to help with a church project for the poor.
The Sunday before her death, Cassie wrote these words after church:
Now I have given up on everything else I have found it to be the only way To really know Christ and to experience The mighty power that brought Him back to life again, and to find Out what it means to suffer and to Die with him. So, whatever it takes I will be one who lives in the fresh Newness of life of those who are Alive from the dead.

Take care, Charlotte x

Red

Before I jump into blogging Id like to introduce myself, my name is Alan im a christian music fan and i will be reviewin bands, gigs, albums, singles and promoting all manner of things always the greatest dont really care bout latest!!! My first blog thing will be about my band of the moment RED yed not only a colour but a band a very good band here is an example.

Red - Breathe Into Me

Frontman Michael Barnes delivers a very strong vocal performance the odd whisper of "he sounds just like Chester Bennington from Linkin Park" can be forgiven however after a few huindered plays of their debut album "End Of Silkence" start to apreciate the sheer range and strength of the smopth vocals and the subtle roughness of the growling vocals whch in my opinion makes him leauges ahead.

The overall sound of the "End Of Silence" is very much nu-metal with a healthy amount of synth and samples with no compromising on the rock , every song on the album is a potential single with its own charm and hooks that make this one filler less album!!

Go get it today!!
